Pokémon (an contraction of Pocket Monsters) are creatures that are trained by Pokémon trainers to fight against other Pokémon. There are many different kinds of Pokémon, each with their own powers, abilities and weaknesses. Through the years, several Nintendo (Gameboy, DS, Wii) games have been made of Pokémon. In 2016, the Pokémon mania exploded with the introduction of the smartphone game Pokémon GO.

As a present for his tenth birthday, Ash is given a Pokémon! Professor Oak gives him three Pokémon to choose from: Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle. Unfortunately, Ash oversleeps and there is only one Pokémon left: Pikachu. Ash wants to be the best Pokémon trainer in the world and so he starts looking for all the other Pokémon.
